what do you think
I would think a place like this would be a great place to bug out to
it not on acreage but still on 5 lots big enough for a garden Mechanic's pit would make a great storm cellar or pantry, or store your ammo http://cgi.ebay.com/HUNTERS-CABIN-Hu...ayphotohosting |
Re: what do you think
Hard to beat the price with a structure on it... Looks like half an acre? 150'x140' = 21,000 sqft..
I would have to see a Google earth view to see how off the beaten path it is.. Dave |
Re: what do you think
If this property is off the natural lines of drift, it could suffice assuming you have good neighbors to watch out for the well being of your property if you are not planning to reside there.
The stigma I have with bugout property is it generally means you don't have a very good knowledge of the surrounding area and or people. This may put you at a significant disadvantage assuming you were in a posistion where you had to bugout. Additionally, how far would you have to travel if you felt like the time to bugout was here? How many routes could you take to it? Is there water on the property? Would a 1/3 to 1/4 acre plot suffice your needs for food assuming you can augment with some hunting? Just some more things that come to mind. Dave |

Re: what do you think
If it was within a few hours of me I think I'd be interested... I know I'd atlest take a drive by and take a peek...
Sure, I'd like it a bit bigger and with a nice creek running through it, but you can't have everyhting, especially for that price... Some of you guys drop that much on PMs in one shot... Like someone mentioned earlier, I'd really like to take a look from above fromg Google Satalitte or something... See whats all is around... The less populated the better... |
Re: what do you think
Then again, looking at it a bit futher, it is only .5 acres... I did not read close enough and pick up on that the 1st time... I think I'd want aleast 1.5 -2 Acres, but again for 7K ????
I went to maps.google.com and put in the Zip code 58413 and zoomed in... It does look pretty rural and the sat view leads me to beleive it is surrounded by farm fields and an intersection of 94 St. S.E & 48th Ave S.E.... Not sure how old those sat pics are... I'm thinking they might be pretty old and there is a lot more build up around the perimeter... |

Population 19
http://www.city-data.com/city/Ventur...th-Dakota.html I was just looking at this for general info I live about as far as you can in FL (wife transferred) but my inlaws do have acreage in ND and SD, but don't know if I can live with them as my wife would like to if SHTF, looking for a place for me and the dogs. with a population of 19 and this property 1/2 block from the town bar, would have 1 in 20 chance of being the town drunk |

By the way, if the proverbial doo-doo did hit the fan I don't think being a drunk would be a bad way to cope! lol. I would base my previous premise on proximity to your in-laws house. Based on the local population it seems like there wouldn't be much in the way of foot traffic and I am fairly certain you will not have much problem from your local bar. ;) I am still hung up on your ability to frequently go to your property and get a good feeling for your surroundings. Now if you in-laws are fairly close by that is another story. Naturally the climate in your area should keep population fairly sparse.. Dave |
